Day 29: The Mosquito and the Lion
The title of today’s story confused me a little. When I saw かとライオン, I thought, cat and lion. It’s a good thing the story has a picture or I would have thought that it’s about a lion and a cat instead of a mosquito.
The story reminded me of another story I read when I was young about a lion and a mouse. They’re not the same, but they’re both fables.
-
fable – a short story, usually with animals as characters, that teaches a lesson
I think fables are great because they’re short, easy to read, and contain a moral, which makes them a good choice for children (and even older people) who want to start to reading.
-
moral – a lesson that is learned from a story or an experience
