Yesterday I had my last lesson with the students who studied under Matsutani-san in March and April.
Next week, they will take regular lessons. Although I’ve taught them three times already, I’m still nervous about their first lesson. They will be separated into different classes, so the classroom dynamics will change and I’m worried that that might make them nervous or less comfortable.
At the same time, however, I’m excited about talking to them in smaller groups because the three lessons I’ve had with them has given me an idea of what they could be capable of (a lot, I think!) and it’s really exciting thinking about how they can grow as language learners with the right attitude.
Of course, it is not only about them but also about me as a teacher. I still have a lot to learn, but I’ll do my beat!
