How are they?
The mother of a student called me today to ask about how her child is doing in class. I think it was the first time a parent of a student talked to me directly to talk about his or her child, and I liked it, which might seem like a strange thing to say, but it’s not.
The lessons I prepare every week depends on my students. It depends on their level, their attitude in learning, their interest in English, and sometimes even their personality. I try, as best as I can, to create lessons, which I think can be helpful to my students.
When talking with my students, I learn more about them and it helps me plan my lessons. When my students can’t really communicate in English, however, it is harder for me to really understand them, which makes it very helpful if someone would tell me more about them.
Through the phone call with my student’s mother, I learned a little bit more about my student and a little bit more about how I can help him improve. So if you’re my student or a parent of my student, please don’t hesitate to message me or call me or talk to me if you have any questions or concerns or anything to say that can help me be more helpful as a teacher. 😊
