AWARDS 2024, Part III

Last year I decided to give an award to my students’ sentences. I call it the “Memorable Sentence Award,” and it is an award for the funniest and most interesting sentences that my students have said.

All of the sentences are part of my conversations with my students during speaking activities or when we’re practicing new vocabulary.

MEMORABLE SENTENCE AWARD
WINNER I

Student: I watched Harry Potter in Japanese.

Me: How is “Dumbledore” pronounced in Japanese?

Student: ダンブルドア

Me: That sounds so different! What about “McGonagall?”

Student: マクドナルド

🤣🤣🤣

This conversation was so funny because I love the Harry Potter books and I was not expecting to hear McDonald’s at all. Even my student was surprised, and we both laughed for a while. 😆
