The End

Today is the last day of Zoom lessons for Inari-juku. When we began giving online lessons, I was worried and nervous. When we decided to extend the closure of the school to the end of this month, I couldn’t wait for today to come. Now that it is here, I don’t know whether to feel glad or upset because this day doesn’t feel like the end. Instead, it feels like a beginning.

I will see my students in person for the first time in a long time. Although I have spoken to them regularly during the time when the school was closed, I feel like I’m going to meet new people instead of students I’ve had for months or years. I have to get used to interacting with them in person again – while wearing a mask the entire time!

I will have to adjust once more, but I cannot wait to see and talk to everyone in person (even though I know some people are perfectly fine with online lessons! 😆).
