Presents for Teenagers

Today I decided that buying a present for a teenager, who isn’t a sister, is one of the most difficult things to do in the world. I had been thinking of what to buy a friend, who is also a teenager, since a month ago but I couldn’t decide until today when I went to Kyoto City to shop for a present.

I thought of buying her lotion, makeup, a power bank, nail polish, and gift cards, but everything didn’t seem like a good idea. When I asked her what she would like three weeks ago, she said I didn’t have to get her anything and there wasn’t anything she wanted anyway, which didn’t help because I still wanted to get her something.

But tomorrow’s the day I’m going to give her the present so I went shopping today, and finally decided not to think about what she would need, which I kept considering. I bought her something I thought she might want instead: perfume and a necklace. I don’t know if she’ll like them but I hope the next person who I will give a present to in the future loves books.
