The Good Side of the Internet

I’m going to say what the whole world knows: this pandemic has been difficult.

I am one of the lucky ones, so I can’t complain about my situation; but by Wednesday next week it will be two years since I have seen my family in person.

It’s difficult because they’re family, but it’s difficult also because, one, I am close with my family, and, two, I miss my nephew VERY, VERY MUCH.

Luckily, the world has the Internet, so my siblings can give me all the latest news. On Tuesday, for example, my eldest sister sent a video to our group chat. It was a video of my 4-year-old niece asking my sister the name of my “boy” (she assumes there is one). 😂😂😂

Today, we had a video call because my younger sister went on a date with her boyfriend and our nephew (yes, they sometimes go on dates with our nephew EMOJI) and our oldest sister wanted to see what was happening. This is what that looked like:

The call was short because I had to get ready for work, but it was quite a big one for me because I met my younger sister’s boyfriend for the first time! It was just a quick hello and it was online, so I don’t consider it an introduction, but I was glad I could say hi despite the distance.

The internet can be a terrible place, but when used the right way, it can bring so much joy. 🌟🌟🌟

…I don’t want to give lessons online again though. 😂
