HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Inari-san has been asking me to write a blog post and I’ve been telling him that I kept forgetting. To be honest, that is only half true…or maybe quarter true because I did remember that I had to write but I didn’t really have anything to write about.

BUT TODAY.

TODAY.

TODAY!

TODAY, I have something to write because it’s Halloween!

In the Philippines, we don’t celebrate Halloween like the Americans. Only a small number of children go trick-or-treating and not many adults dress up and go to Halloween parties, so I don’t really think it’s a big deal. Actually, I’ve never really celebrated it before.

Instead of Halloween, around this time of the year, Filipinos celebrate All Saints Day and All Souls Day, which are holidays celebrated by Catholics. Since around 80 percent of Filipinos are Catholics, these two holidays are very, very big and very important to a lot of people in the Philippines. Although I and my siblings are Anglican (I think dad is a Catholic but I’m not sure because we don’t really care about that), we still observe the holidays like many Filipinos.

In the next post, I will write about those holidays in detail. I can do it here but I want to say that I wrote at least two blog posts this week, so if you’re interested, read my post tomorrow! 😁
