What are lessons like?　レッスンの様子は？

Lessons usually begin with a listening activity, followed by grammar or vocabulary, and ending with a speaking activity. The bulk of every lesson is spent on giving the students a chance to express themselves orally, whether through a game, an informal debate, or even just free conversation. The speaking activity done and the grammar and vocabulary learned in every class will depend on the skill and the ability of the students in that class. レッスンは通常リスニングから始まり、その後、文法や語彙を学び、スピーキングで終了します。ゲームや簡略なディベート、あるいは自由な会話などを通して、生徒が口頭で自分を表現する機会を作ることにレッスンの大部分を使います。スピーキングの内容や学習する文法・語彙はそのクラスの生徒のスキルや能力によって異なります。下のビデオでレッスンの様子を見てみてください。

What about writing and reading?　ライティングとリーディングについて

The lesson time is 50 minutes, which limits the students’ speaking time, especially if there more than two students in a class; so writing and reading are given as homework. Students are asked to read one book a week and to keep an English diary that they can choose to update daily, weekly, or occasionally.
At the beginning of every lesson, students are given feedback on what they’ve written in the previous week. Students who take the feedback they get and apply it to their future writing usually improve more and faster in writing.

授業時間は50分で、特に2人以上のクラスでは生徒が話す時間が限られています。そのため、ライティングとリーディングは宿題にしています。週に1冊本を読むことと、英語での日記を毎日、毎週、または時々書くことが宿題です。
毎回レッスンの最初に、前の週に書いた日記に対するフィードバックを行います。フィードバックをその後のライティングに活かしている生徒の多くは、より早く、大幅にライティングを上達させています。

How difficult are the lessons?　レッスンの難易度は？

Students in the same class have about the same level of skills in speaking and listening and knowledge in grammar and vocabulary, so it is not unusual for students of different ages to be put in the same class as long as everyone is comfortable with it. Students in second year junior high school, for example, can have a third year classmate. It is also possible for a senior high school student to have a classmate who is still in junior high.
New students can expect to be placed in a class that is challenging enough, but not too difficult. If, at any point during the term or school year, a student feels like their current class is too easy or too difficult, they are welcome to discuss with the teacher about moving to another class. Currently, students are divided into the following classes:

スピーキング・リスニングのレベルや文法・語彙の知識がほぼ同じ生徒を同じクラスにしているので、全員がリラックスできるのであれば、年齢が違う生徒を同じクラスにすることも珍しくありません。例えば、中学2年生の生徒が3年生のクラスメートを持つこともあります。また、高校生に中学生のクラスメートがいることもあります。
新しく入る生徒は、十分な難易度がありながら、難しすぎないクラスに入ることができます。年度の途中で、今のクラスが簡単すぎる、あるいは難しすぎると感じた場合は、いつでも他のクラスへの移動を講師に相談することができます。現在、生徒は以下のクラスに分かれています。
