TED (again)

BBC Newhour’s main story yesterday was about Donald Trump’s decision to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and hearing about Israel reminded me of a TED video that I and my students watched and discussed a few weeks ago.

embassy – the official residence or offices of an ambassador

The talk is about replying to spam and about a scammer named Solomon, which is why I remembered it when I was listening to BBC. The talk was difficult for my students because it was too fast, but I think they still enjoyed it and they still learned something from it.

    scam – a dishonest scheme
    scheme – a secret plan

I guess I just want to say (again) that watching TED videos is one good way to study English. There are so many videos available on the site about all kinds of topics, so there’s always a chance that you will find something interesting for you.
